Dear Comsol engineers,
I have questions on 2 heat transfer tutorial models as follows.
- Natural Convection Cooling of a Vacuum Flask (Time-dependent): https://www.comsol.com/model/natural-convection-cooling-of-a-vacuum-flask-1448
- LED Bulb Cooling (Stationary): https://www.comsol.com/model/led-bulb-cooling-78141
Both are heat transfer (Cooling) models simulating natural convection with the surrounding air domain.
My question is that there are 2 components (one without the air domain and the other with the air domain) in the 1st example whereas there is only 1 component (device+air domain) in the 2nd example.
The only difference is that one is time-dependent and the other is stationary which I believe should not decide whether the model should be split or not.
When I tried the 1st example merging 2 components into 1, it failed. So there should be some reason to split components into 2. But then why the 2nd example does everything using only 1 component?
I would truly appreciate any advice.
Best regards,
Jake
