I'm relatively new to COMSOL and I'm trying to simulate the electric field created by an AC current within a toroidal coil. I have been able to simulate the B-field in the axisymmetric builder for a standard coil, but I now need to use the 3D builder for future arbitrary coil shapes. My objective for now is to simulate a coil with 1 amp of current at some frequency and observe the electric field values (and also electric field gradient values) along some plane lying above that coil.
I have currently created a coil, put a box around it to represent air, and have run the simulation but it has been running for hours - is there a simpler way to do this?
