Hi Comsol Users,
I am a student working on a novel application for capacitive coupling. Capacitive coupling allows us to electrically-couple two physically independent circuits across capacitors. The basic setup I am working with can be seen here:
In reality, a DC source is converted to an AC source, and then the outputs from the capacitors are sent through a rectifier to convert them back to DC. I am pretty new to Comsol, but over the past few days I have gone through a variety of tutorials, trying to understand how to set up this simulation. I desire to run a simulation where the input is an alternating potential applied to the terminals A and B, and the output results show the potential induced between C and D.
I have run a few simulations and examined result plots, but I'm not quite getting what I want. Here are some photos of my model:
I am running an electrostatics simmulation in the frequency domain. I set the top rod and plate (A) to be terminal with charge 5V, and bottome rod and plate (B) to be terminal with charge -5V. I'm not sure this is quite correct, though. Also, I think I need to add some load between the inner plates (C and D), but I don't know the best way to do this.
Any help on this would be significantly appreciated. Also please let me know if it would be helpful to include more information. Best, Ethan
