Importing 2D geometry from CAD

I've imported a 2d geometry from CAD (image attached).

After import , the 2d geometry appears like a surface. I want to retain only the lines that form the boundaries (highlighted in the image attached)

Any suggestions on how to delete the 2D surface enclosed by the boundary lines will be really helpful. I've to retain only the lines
