Simulation of a tandem solar cell (I-V curve)

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to simulate a multi-junction solar cell in 1D. First, I have simulated the three subcells individually and obtained their I-V curves. Everything was ok, both short-circuit (Isc) and open-circuit voltage (Voc) were correct for the three of them. Then, I tried to simulate the top, middle and bottom subcells altogether, forming the whole solar cell. It was expected that the Voc would be more or less the sum of the all subcells' Voc, but that didn't happen. I really don't understand why this happens. Can someone help me?

In attachment are the I-V curves of each subcell (exported to MATLAB) and the obtained I-V curve of the whole solar cell.

Thank you very much, Sara Bernardes
